Our website has allot information for travellers going to Bogota. It has information on Colombian culture, art, travel tips, climate, universities, cosmetic surgery and much more.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Initially the website was creative as an advertisement. However, it has grown and is much more just a venue to advertise our apartment and room for rent.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our current website was launched just a month ago. Allot of time and effort has gone into it to make it a site where people will want to come to get information on Bogota.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name of our site reflects the nature of our business. We rent out our luxury apartment and rooms to travelors to Bogbota Colombia.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Again, our website is different in that it is full of information on Bogota and Colombia. Each day we find more unigue and interesting things to incorporate into our site. We are dedicated to making it one of the most informative sites on the internet with information about Bogota and Colombia.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I guess eventually we will want to write an ebook and put in our site. We hope it will also help generate an income from the site.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We haven't made allot of profit just with our website. Most of the money generated is from advertising. I think that I have spent much more time working on this site than any revenue returned. At least that is the case so far.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Well I would likely have the whole site revamped and would hire someone with great SEO skills.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Well you can always turn people away. If we were to be very successful we would likely buy another apartment.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The biggest headaces is having my website built only to have more problems with it. I am alwasy having problems with the website.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been building the website in a stable manner.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We used allot of backlinking which has really been key to our presence on the net.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I never really knew how difficult it was to have a presence on the internet. How difficult it is to follow SEO suggestions, tips and tricks.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
This site has only been running for one month. We hope to have it running forever. We plan to add allot of information to it. We really want it to be the best place for people to go for regarding information on Colombia.
