Once upon a time, Colombia is so chaos-rich that tourists avoid it and some residents are always on the watch for bandits.
While I cannot say that Colombia is completely free from that now, I can say that the situation here has vastly improved. Infrastructure is getting better. Crime rates are getting low and tourists now have more confidence living in this nation.
