Meeting of American citizens in Cartagena

American citizens in and around Cartagena, Colombia, are invited to attend a meeting with their fellow citizens on Saturday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hotel Caribe in Cartagena.

A consular officer from the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá will be available to address issues that are of concern to the American community in Cartagena. Refreshments will be served.

Please be prepared to show your U.S. passport to enter the meeting room.

I know that the consulate changed offices from Baranquilla to Cartagena as of the 1st of March 2009 but where are they located or what is the phone number? Are they offering services to US citizens?

I tried to visit the US Embassy and Consulate in Cartagena a few weeks ago, which apparently is located right next to the "aguas de Cartagena" buildings, which aren't far from the India, but when I arrived they told me that the consulate is still located in Barranquilla and the embassy doesn't receive visitors.

I was disappointed because I was hoping to meet some other americans living here in cartagena...
