To an outsider, going to Colombia for a vacation is an act of insanity, something worth laughing--or be surprised--at. This is because Colombia is, generally, viewed by the outside world as terrorist hub, a land of rebels where every corner is dangerous.Visiting Colombia for yourself, however, will tell you that Colombia, in general, is not like that. Of course, there are still areas where there are insurgents, but in the tourist areas, it's safe. Link: My holiday in Colombia 2004
